Leadership & Service

Opportunities to grow as leaders in the world and servants to others are hallmarks of a Roanoke Catholic experience. We provide many clubs and service organizations for our students to develop the skills they’ll need to successfully navigate and excel in the worlds of college, work and life.

Honor Society: For students in Grades 10-12. Membership is a privilege extended to those students who qualify in several areas. To be considered for selection, students must have attended Roanoke Catholic for at least one semester and be in good standing with the school. They must meet the scholarship standard which at RCS is a cumulative semester average of 93. Those who qualify academically are then evaluated by the Faculty Council, composed of five teachers, in the areas of leadership, service, and character.

Key Club: An international student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Service projects that the Roanoke Catholic Key Club annually coordinate or participate in include the production of Christmas fruit baskets to assist Manna Ministries, Soup for Seniors, and drives to benefit both local food banks and a Catholic school in Haiti.

Help Save the Next Girl: A national non-profit formed in honor of Morgan Dana Harrington, a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student who was abducted and murdered in 2009. Help Save the Next Girl seeks to sensitize young women and girls to predatory danger, fostering mutual respect and camaraderie with young men, and being an active, imaginative presence on campuses and in clubs and violence prevention forums across the country.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): A national organization that challenges coaches and athletes to use the power of athletics to impact our world for Jesus Christ.  Athletes and coaches make a steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through integrity, service, teamwork, and excellence.
