New Dean of Advancement Appointed

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Joanna B. Coleman to the role of Dean of Advancement. Mrs. Coleman will serve as a senior administrator and work to create and implement the advancement plan of the school.

The Dean of Advancement is a newly created role-specific to the high level of expertise, extensive track record, and knowledge of running highly successful capital campaigns, that Mrs. Coleman brings to Roanoke Catholic.

Mrs. Coleman is a dedicated advancement leader with more than 20 years of experience in the academic and non-profit sectors. She has served Southwest Virginia in roles such as Director of Development and Communications for Family Service of Roanoke Valley and brings a wealth of knowledge as an established development leader in both the secondary and higher education settings. Mrs. Coleman has served as the Ferrum College Major Gifts Officer and was subsequently promoted to Director of Development at Ferrum. She then went on to lead at North Cross School as their Director of Development. Most recently, Mrs. Coleman has served as the Chief Advancement Officer at Hopetree Family Services, a human services nonprofit in Salem, VA.

Mrs. Coleman holds a passion for developing and growing philanthropic relationships and is keenly aware of the value of independent school education. Her vast skill set and experience in strategic planning and execution, will no doubt prove to be an immeasurable asset to the growth of Roanoke Catholic.

Mrs. Coleman is excited to partner with Roanoke Catholic staff, parents, alumni, and corporate sponsors, and to embrace the mission and vision of Roanoke Catholic by diving deep into our operation and building relationships at every level.
