New Faculty Members Announced

Mrs. Jennifer Satchwell-Crocker, or “Mrs. S.C.” for short, will join the Third Grade team as a Lead Teacher.

Mrs. S.C. was born here in Roanoke but grew up in Central PA. where she also learned how to figure skate competitively.  She spent her childhood vacations heading south on 81 to return to see family in this area. Mrs. S.C. attended Roanoke College for undergrad and then taught in Roanoke City for 12 years. The same year she started teaching, she also started coaching figure skating in the area and was able to do this for 17 years.

Mrs. S.C. had the opportunity to teach abroad for a year in Antananarivo, Madagascar.  This experience led her to go back to school to complete her Masters in Reading Specialization at Virginia Tech.  Upon graduating, Mrs. S.C. taught in Roanoke County Schools for 19 years, 2 years in Title 1, and 17 years as a reading specialist.

Mrs. S.C. is blessed with a wonderful family.  Her husband John, son Benjamin, stepson Alan, and stepdaughter Paige.  Benjamin also attended Roanoke Catholic for several years.

Mrs. S.C. is excited to start yet another chapter in her educational career here at Roanoke Catholic. She shared that she “looks forward to being a part of this faithful, educational community and getting to know you all.” Mrs. S.C. will begin in the classroom next Wednesday, November 17th.

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Ashley Christian will be joining our First Grade team as a Lead Teacher.

Ms. Christian recently moved to the Roanoke area from Philadelphia, PA where she was a teacher at Depaul Catholic School and St. Raymond of Penafort Catholic School, during her six years teaching in that area. Ms. Christian is originally from Annapolis, Maryland but moved to Philadelphia shortly after graduating with her bachelor’s degree from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC, to obtain her Masters in Elementary Education from Drexel University. She is the youngest of four siblings who are spread out across the country. Ms. Christian enjoys fly fishing, golfing, practicing yoga, and baking in her spare time. Ms. Christian will begin in the classroom shortly after Thanksgiving break.
