Roanoke Catholic School is pleased to announce that alumnus and veteran coach David Turk will return to “The Hill” to lead the Celtics’ girls volleyball program.

“I am excited to be able to give back to a school that gave me so much,” says Turk, a 1970 graduate who coached for 26 years at Roanoke Catholic, Lord Botetourt and Salem high schools. His teams earned five trips to the state tournament, winning the 1997-98 AA State Championship. He earned Coach of the Year honors several times and also coached volleyball at Hollins University.

Mike Dailey, who has a 30-year career as player and coach at the high school, collegiate and professional levels, will take over Roanoke Catholic’s baseball team. He lives in Radford with his wife and two children.

“We’re thrilled to have these two quality and committed men at Roanoke Catholic,” says athletic director Matt Peck. “Our volleyball team has a rich history with multiple state titles, while our baseball team, which was non-existent four years ago, reached the playoffs this year. Under David’s and Mike’s leadership, we look forward to continued Celtics’ success.”
