Virginia Outside Fishing Camp
8:30 am – 4:30 pm | Ages 8-13
Join us for our Roanoke camp for ages 9-14 where we will introduce all of the basics of fishing to newcomers and help experienced anglers sharpen their skills. We’ll explore the wide variety of freshwater fishing in both ponds and rivers around the Roanoke Valley. With Roanoke’s proximity to some great smallmouth bass fishing, we’ll spend plenty of time floating and wading area rivers including the Roanoke and the James in addition to targeting largemouth bass and other species in area ponds. We look forward to seeing you out on the water with us! Scouts may also earn their fishing merit badge.
For over a decade, Virginia Outside has provided youth across the state with countless experiences on the water and fishing stories to last a lifetime! This week with Virginia Outside offers campers the opportunity to explore the wide variety of freshwater fishing in both ponds and rivers around the Roanoke Valley. Safety is our number one priority and all campers will always wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. Additionally, we maintain a 1:4 counselor-to-camper ratio. This camp has limited spaces, so sign up early!
Virginia Outside provides all bait and tackle, rods and reels, and life jackets. The campers should bring their own sunscreen, and wear shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting wet and dirty. Please visit www.virginiaoutside.com for pictures from past sessions and for a detailed description of our weekly activities. For more information, contact Ben Garden at email@example.com or (540) 761-9847. You can also visit the Virginia Outside website at www.virginiaoutside.com.
