CODEMOJI’s computer science programs teach students to enjoy all things related to coding and the web while building problem solving and creative thinking skills. Our staff of educators deliver clear, entertaining instruction to ensure students have fun while learning complex coding skills using popularized emojis that represent HTML text, which lowers the barriers to new coders and increases their excitement and understanding of computer science. Students build animations, websites, and video games; explore multiple coding languages; program robots; create STEM-based projects both on and offline; and are encouraged to share their projects when they get home on our web-based platform. Students also work with interactive circuit boards to understand the basics of currents and work with their teacher to build a handful of fun hands-on projects!  Want to sign up for more than one session? SPECIAL REGISTRATION LINK FOR FISHING CAMP

Join us for our Roanoke camp for ages 9-14 where we will introduce all of the basics of fishing to newcomers and help experienced anglers sharpen their skills.  We’ll explore the wide variety of freshwater fishing in both ponds and rivers around the Roanoke Valley. With Roanoke’s proximity to some great smallmouth bass fishing, we’ll spend plenty of time floating and wading area rivers including the Roanoke and the James in addition to targeting largemouth bass and other species in area ponds.  We look forward to seeing you out on the water with us! Scouts may also earn their fishing merit badge.

For over a decade, Virginia Outside has provided youth across the state with countless experiences on the water and fishing stories to last a lifetime! This week with Virginia Outside offers campers the opportunity to explore the wide variety of freshwater fishing in both ponds and rivers around the Roanoke Valley. Safety is our number one priority and all campers will always wear life jackets when in the water or on a boat. Additionally, we maintain a 1:4 counselor-to-camper ratio. This camp has limited spaces, so sign up early!

Virginia Outside provides all bait and tackle, rods and reels, and life jackets. The campers should bring their own sunscreen, and wear shoes and clothes that they don’t mind getting wet and dirty. Please visit www.virginiaoutside.com for pictures from past sessions and for a detailed description of our weekly activities. For more information, contact Ben Garden at ben@virginiaoutside.com or (540) 761-9847. You can also visit the Virginia Outside website at www.virginiaoutside.com.

SAT Boot Camp
9 am – 4 pm | Grades 10-12
Rate: $250
The SAT is unlike any other test a student will take. Its trying length, arcane questions, and high-stakes consequences can frustrate and flummox even the best of students. Most students aren’t exposed to SAT-style questions in their normal courses of study and will underperform if  unprepared for this unique test. The Sat Prep course is an intense, five-day affair designed to provide the specialized training required to reach a target score. Students will learn SAT-specific test taking strategies and problem solving skills, and will have materials and training to continue to improve their score well after these sessions end. The course will cover math topics in the morning sessions and verbal topics in the afternoon sessions. Recommended for students who have completed an Algebra II course. Camp fee includes purchase of the Official SAT Study Guide (2020 Edition) (Paperback) by The College Board.
