RCS welcomes new guidance director

Roanoke Catholic School is pleased to announce the hiring of Jenny L. Roy as Director of Guidance and Student Services. She begins work in January.

Ms. Roy has a Master’s degree in School Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, both from Marshall University. Since 2011 she has worked as a contractor for Education Testing Services, a quality and support specialist for dental insurance provider Revolv, and recently completed a one-year school counseling internship.

Ms. Roy will be responsible for all aspects of school counseling and assist upper schoolers with scheduling and course selection; coordinate PSAT, Advanced Placement, SAT, ACT and other college testing; and guide seniors through the college application and scholarship process. She will be supported by Principal and Head of School Patrick Patterson who, prior to joining Roanoke Catholic, served as assistant dean for undergraduate admissions at Stetson University in Deland, Fla.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Roanoke Catholic School team,” says Ms. Roy. “It is my hope that this will be a smooth transition for all. I look forward to getting to know all the students and parents/guardians, and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals both at Roanoke Catholic and beyond.”
